Our country has an unending list of Tourist destinations and each one has its own charm and specialty about it. It’s the winters when Indian climate gets perfect for maximum destinations that are worth travelling. Here will share 5 special destinations which are really worth travelling during this season and have a specialty of their own. We have tried to cover destinations in all corners of the country and offering variety in holiday genres.

winter destinations

The best destination up north for an adventurous winter vacation. If you wish to experience the winter chill along with some adrenaline rush Gulmarg is the place to be. Leave aside the astounding views of the snow-clad peaks and half frozen pine trees will offer you. The terrain can be bit challenging but the trip is adventurous so it has to be challenging. Skiing, scooter rides, hiking, ballooning etc are some of the activities you will find happening at Gulmarg during this season. Do be patient with roadblocks and flight delays due to snowfall and get ready to experience heaven on Earth.

The famous River Rafting destination of India. Though the Rafting season is from Late September to June but during winters the Ganges are cleanest and the crowd is limited, which enables excellent utilization of resources available at the destination. The weather in itself is great with a light sunshine in the afternoon and some chill in the night. You can get a good deal with a resort as tourists are limited and can enjoy bonfires and other activities as per your will. Rafting also gets easier as you can customise packages as per your requirements and spend a good time on the river. As always the natural beauty around is worth a million pictures and will keep you in awe for some time.

Above we have mentioned some really cool places individually. But here I am writing about Kerala as a state as it is a wonderful winter destination and the only destination which provides a complete holiday in a true sense. You will not find so many varieties in a single holiday as Kerala offers to you. Start with Munnar a serene hill station, next Thekkady hosts a wildlife sanctuary, then Allepey with its never-ending backwaters and finally Kovalam with famous white sand beaches. A complete destination with something for everyone in it. If you are traveling with kids and elderly this one is the best to take them to.

The islands in the southernmost part of India are one of the hottest destinations during winters. The weather is perfect for a beach destination. Along with that, it is an excellent place for all water sports like scuba diving, snorkeling, parasailing etc. Visit Andaman’s during winters to experience the vibe of the islands in a true sense. Christmas and New Year celebrations add to the flavor.  A famous destination for honeymooners in India, as it is a wedding season also in December to February lot of couples travel to Andamans for their first holiday together. Island hopping is the most liked activity with some great islands to visit the Ross Islands, Neil Island and the best one being Havelock islands. Radhanagar beach has been coined as one of the best beaches to visit in the world and is a must visit on your trip to Andamans.

The truly global tourist destination in the western part of the country. In winters the place turns out to be a foreigners heaven as many people across the globe travel to Goa to spend their Christmas and New Year vacations. The beautiful beaches, happening shacks, clubs and discs, casinos everything has a unique vide during the winter months. It’s all alive and kicking. There can be no other place better than Goa to bring in your new year and bid goodbye to the old one. Moving ahead until February the place keeps buzzing with tourists and is a great destination to be to mingle with people, make new friends and have some lovely time at beaches.

Criesnlaughter with IndiaKhoj is organizing an All Women Goa trip this summer and we are looking forward to it as the most happening trip for women in 2018. Please find the link below for details.
