5 ways to prevent Kidney Stone

As I turn 30, it is important to take care of my body not just externally but internally too. It is a fact that people under the age zone of 30-60 have a higher chance to have a kidney stone. So it’s always better to take a preventive action, rather than picking the disease and then undergo a painful treatment for the same.

What are kidney stones and what can be the cause?

Kidney stones are nothing but the solid deposits of minerals and salts that have crystallized together over a period of time in the kidneys.

Usually, the fluid in urine prevents the waste products from coming into contact with each other, thus avoiding this crystallization. Kidney Stones usually form when your fluid intake is less or there is too much solid waste content in the urine. It may also happen because of some medication or even due to a medical condition.

Though most kidney stones develop in the kidneys, however, they can even get formed anywhere in the urinary tract.

  1. Have a lot of water

To avoid getting kidney stones, it is important to keep oneself hydrated. Make sure you drink plenty of water every day so you don’t become dehydrated. This is important to keep your urine clear to prevent waste products meeting each other to form kidney stones.

  1. Maintain a healthy weight

Being obese will surely stress your kidneys. But moving to a less weight should be done safely too. Crash diets, low carbs diet etc also can lead to the kidney stone. An exercise for an hour also can keep you in a good shape and health.

  1. Avoid caffeine

I know that it’s a tough thing for a coffee lover like me but for a good health this important. Caffeine increases the metabolism hence increasing the chances of dehydration. One should keep a maximum limit of 3-4 cups a day, to keep your body hydrated. Same goes for alcohol, avoid it for a fit you!!

  1. Keep a check on your salt intake:

Salt is another reason for water retention which thus leads to dehydration. Avoid using canned foods as those are expected to have high salt contents.
